Let’s kill ‘Today’s Ravan’

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, symbolizes the light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and Dharma over Adharma. It commemorates the victorious return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after saving his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana. But in today’s world, Ravana no longer wears ten heads, he walks among us, as an ordinary person, harboring the darkness of evil thoughts. He is the one who perpetuates violence, who violates the dignity of women like “Abhaya.” This Diwali, let us light a different kind of lamp, the flame that burns away the "male gaze," that objectifies and demeans women. Let us pledge to destroy the Ravana within ourselves and in society, ensuring that the light of respect and equality shines brighter than ever before.
